Job description
DWP is looking to fill both the Head of Digital Delivery Fraud & Error; and the Head of Digital Delivery Debt role in the Digital directorate.
The role of Head of Digital Delivery Fraud & Error is crucial to DWP’s transformation. DWP serves a population of 22 million people providing a range of complex benefits which support people at various points in their life. This means that some fraud and error will be present. Our services enable the prevention and detection of fraud and error within the benefits system quickly and efficiently. As the welfare state changes shape, so does the nature of fraud and error.
The role of Head of Digital Delivery Debt is crucial to DWP’s transformation. This critical leadership role will lead in delivering against our ambitions and ensuring that we will continue to recover money owed to DWP in a fair and sustainable way that ensures our customers are engaged throughout their payments. This role is an exceptional and unique opportunity to play a key part in creating the future of digital government; to transform service delivery throughout DWP and to improve people’s lives.

Digital Hub Locations are Birmingham, Blackpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle. The teams that report into this role are predominately based in Blackpool and Manchester. There is an expectation to travel at least once a week to an office where teams are based.

Person specification
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their knowledge, experience and skills against the following essential criteria:
- An exceptional and authentic leader, with the ability to build, inspire and engage their teams to deliver results, even in times of ambiguity
- Leading a scaled agile environment where your success depends on influencing and managing cross-team dependencies, as well as setting consistent and predictable ways of working on your own
- Successful track record of delivering real business value, in increments, in line with user needs. Proven experience of managing and delivering change in a complex environment
- Strong evidence of building excellent stakeholder relationships, creating wide ranging network across organisational boundaries that supports collaborative working across teams and enables issues to be surfaced early for effective resolution
- Strong financial acumen and a genuine motivation to deliver true value for money.
Desirable criteria:
- An understanding of Fraud and Error or Debt would be desirable .
