Director – NICE Advice

As the Director of NICE Advice, you will be responsible for leading and growing our business unit. You will oversee all aspects of the business, including strategy development, sales, project delivery, and team management. Your goal is to enhance NICE Advice's reputation as a trusted partner and drive its continued success.

Job description

  • Achieving annual business targets, maintaining the highest standards of advice to clients through the various products/services and ensuring robust operation within the agreed governance framework
  • Strategic development of the business unit, identifying new opportunities and developing the portfolio of consulting services including those delivered in collaboration with external partners such as EMA, MHRA, EUnetHTA, the FDA, other public sector bodies and potentially commercial organisations (CROs, investment and consulting companies)
  • Ensuring a high profile for the business unit with the client base of developers of healthcare products and international organisations such that there is on-going demand for consultancy services

Person specification

Qualifications/experience
  • Appropriate postgraduate scientific qualification eg PhD/MBA and demonstrable experience in a commercial customer facing healthcare industry. Further specialist training or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and further training/development
Experience
  • Contemporary Industry experience in health care consulting or related company experience at Senior Manger level or above.
  • Experience of developing strategies to meet changing organisational needs
Skills
  • Strong sales leadership skills and customer service
Knowledge
  • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the disciplines of health technology assessment (e.g. health economics, systematic review, pharmacy, epidemiology, medical statistics, clinical research)
Knowledge
  • An understanding of the social, political, economic and technological context in which the NHS, NICE and NICE Advice clients operate.

Selection process details

  • Initial assessment: Applicants will be evaluated against the essential criteria mentioned in the job advertisement
  • Informal screening: Applicants longlisted will have an informal screening call with, Mark Chapman, Director for HealthTech
  • Psychometric test: Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a psychometric test before attending an interview 
  • Interviews: Candidates will prepare for a presentation and interview with the executive commercial team and key stakeholders from across NICE
    Interviews are expected to take place week commencing 28 October 2024.
