This is an exciting opportunity to join Service Delivery Optimisation (SDO) within the Integrated Risk and Intelligence Service (IRIS) Model office design team which is part of the Counter Fraud Compliance & Debt (CFCD) Relationship Manager team.

CFCD Relationship Manager Team is at the forefront of the DWP approach to design processes to effectively tackle Fraud, Error and Debt (FED).

Working effectively with stakeholders this exciting role requires you to work at pace, to make improvements which deliver efficiency, improve performance and embed strategic solutions to modernise the Department’s approach to Fraud and Error.

This role provides opportunities to work on one of the Department’s wide ranging strategies (FED), where we continue to deliver all the services required to support front line Operations and continuously improve the service through excellent Service Delivery Optimisation.

IRIS are transforming the way CFCD approach the prevention and detection of FED. This role within SDO undertakes the design activity to develop new processes and instructions. This will allow CFCD operations to test new approaches utilising new data and industry concepts to improve our Customer Journeys.

The objective is to ensure that the detection and prevention of FED is everyone’s business across DWP and that we have robust processes that act as a strong and robust deterrent to those who may commit benefit fraud.

To achieve this, we need to invest in the capability of our people and the design of clear and simple processes and instructions. Job description

  • Fully understand the detail of customer testing requirements to enable the development of suitable processes at pace which will enable testing to happen safely with appropriate governance.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships across a multi-disciplinary stakeholder group and with external stakeholders to support the delivery of testing processes.
  • Engage with Stakeholders across CFCD Operations, Legal, Policy, Decision Making and Universal Credit design to ensure everyone is kept informed of progress and given the opportunities to influence design.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels and be able to solve complex asks.
  • Influence and challenge at a senior level when work commissioned into Service Delivery Optimisation (SDO) may require further clarity and context.
  • Actively review and negotiate prioritisation of work with Integrated Risk Intelligence Service (IRIS) Model Office.
  • Being responsive and adaptable to demanding deadlines and working at pace to deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Understand the importance of the CFCD Annually Managed Expenditure (AME) Target and what our commissions will contribute in terms of savings / efficiencies. When this is not clear you will effectively challenge to ensure your team understand the value of the work we are being asked to deliver and how this will inform prioritisation.
  • Work with the Transaction Risking (TxR) programme to ensure Service Delivery Optimisation are aware of and closely aligned to TxR activity.
  • Work with colleagues within TxR programme to understand the opportunities presented to enhance Customer Journeys by using new data from Machine Learning Models (MLM).
  • Explore and understand how we can enhance our services by making best use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics.
  • Provide line management, leadership and engagement to your SDO team, providing regular feedback to ensure the teams have clear direction.
  • Build relationships with Change Management colleagues to ensure we remain closely aligned on our shared activity.

Key Criteria:

  • Strong influential Leadership with experience and use of Transaction Risking within an organisation to support the prevention and detection of Fraud, Error and Debt (Lead).
  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Confident delivering to large audiences face-to-face and virtually, adapting your communication style to suit the audience making appropriate use of digital communication channels (Lead).
  • Be proactive and positive, working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders making and maintaining effective professional working relationships, deliver shared goals and outcomes.
  • Experience and use of Microsoft Visio or similar tooling to design processes.
  • Have a strong commitment to self-development and the development of others.
  • Ability to work at pace to deliver outcomes within agreed timescales, demonstrating effective planning management. Are flexible and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of performance data and using it within performance conversation and to drive performance improvement.

  1. Written Sift​

The written sift will be conducted using evidence from your Personal Statement of 1250 words and will be assessed against the Key Criteria within the advert.​

Candidates who pass the initial Sift may be progressed to a full Sift or direct to interview.

  1. Interview​

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. This will be a video interview.​

The interview panel will be a minimum of two people. The interview will assess: Behaviours and Strengths. The interview aims to be more of a conversation exploring the candidate’s capability for the role. ​

To help you prepare and settle into the interview you will be sent the behaviour questions in advance of the interview, up to 5 days prior to your interview. These questions should be treated as confidential. The interview panel may ask you other questions which will not be shared in advance, including follow-up questions, and those about your strengths.​

Candidates will be asked further probing questions to determine suitability for the role. ​
