Job summary
RAF Brize Norton is the largest station in the Royal Air Force with approximately 7600 personnel – a combination of military, civilian and supporting contractors, together maintaining the highly operational output of both regular and reserve units. The Station is home to the RAF's Strategic and Tactical Air Mobility (AM) and Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR) forces, as well as host to many lodger units and personnel from all armed services.
The 1 Air Mobility Wing (1AMW) purpose is to deliver the tactical gearing of the airbridge, so that Air can provide assured theatre access for Defence. The Squadron is broadly engaged 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible to Officer Commanding Training & Support Flight 1AMW (OC Trg & Spt). As a Senior Storekeeper, you will be responsible for the day-to-day provision of Equipment Support Services to 1 AMW Squadrons (Sqns). Contracted hours are worked within normal section opening hours unless a deviation is authorised by OC Trg & Spt Flt. The 1AMW Senior Storekeeper role is a full-time post of 37 hours per week.
Specific duties include:
Ensuring stocks of Unit Load Devices (ULDs), associated palletisation equipment and Dollie Trailers remain at adequate levels for 1 AMW Exercise Commitments, UKMAMS tasking and Main Base aircraft operations, ensuring stocks are replenished as required.
Completing daily checks of in-use Unit Loading Devices (ULD’s), including aircraft containers, pallets and nets segregating any that are damaged and reporting it to SNCO Equipment Support Section (ESS).
Completing monthly and quarterly checks of 1 AMW Anthony Allen Docking (AA), reporting unserviceabilities to 1 AMW Eng and SNCO ESS.
Completing the monthly pallet census initiated by HQ Air A4 Movs Caps, and the monthly ULD census of all eqpt specific to Brize Norton aircraft.
Arranging collection of damaged items for repair or scrap, liaising with 1 AMW MT to ensure delivery to a specialist contractor.
Completing monthly fire extinguisher, first aid, fire escape, eye wash, and legionella checks for H66, replenishing stocks as required.
Reporting faults and keeping up to date works service register for H66.
In the absence of SNCO ESS, completing additional Extra Service Requests (ESRs) as required for the 1 AMW estate.
In the absence of SNCO ESS, acting as the focal point for ESS equipment, A4 Movs Caps and DE&S Procurement Teams matters as required.
Ensuring quantities of dunnage, chains and tensioners are adequate to support 1 AMW outputs, replenishing stocks when required.
Completing daily checks of all 1 AMW consumables including, but not limited to, PPE, forms and stationery.
Highlighting stock deficiencies to JNCO ESS Supply, ensuring replenishment demands are submitted well-before items run out.
In addition, the 1 AMW Senior Storekeeper is to carry out other 1 AMW ESS duties as specified by OC Trg & Spt Flt, FS Spt or SNCO ESS.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
