Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for one Senior Digital Change Specialist in our Digital and Technology Group (DTG).
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. We are currently operating a hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 40% of contracted hours working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. This may rise to 60% during the year. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The Digital and Technology Group (DTG) lies at the heart of the Agency and is responsible for delivering an optimised IT infrastructure and maximising the secure use of data to enable our scientists, inspectors, and the rest of the organisation to deliver world class services which can improve outcomes for patients and the general public. The Group was essential in the race to approve COVID-19 vaccines in 2020 and in supporting the UK to set up its own medicines and devices approvals systems following our exit from the EU. The work we do matters!
The Digital & Service Design group provides a number of services through its practice-based model including user-research, service design, business analysis, change management and product management. D&SDG owns the customer experience for the division and is building its in-house capabilities around Digital Product Management and User Centred Design.
Job description
What’s the role?
The Senior Digital Change Specialist will provide visible and effective leadership, leading the business change management activity for digital projects and programmes, proactively preparing the business for the impact of the digital changes being delivered.
The role provides a bridge between digital projects and programmes and business users to ensure that activities are planned and completed to enable the business to implement the agreed digital change and realise the benefits.
You will lead on the preparation of change management approaches and plans for agreed projects and programmes. This could include developing training plans and approaches as well as leading on the creation and management of business readiness criteria across delivery plans
You will also play a leading role in communications and engagement, collaborating with the Communications Team to develop and deliver plans, content and events to ensure staff and stakeholders have timely and accurate information relating to changes
The role will provide change management and SME knowledge into design workshops supporting digital delivery teams in developing business knowledge about the organisation, its services and ways of working.
Person specification
The successful candidate will be a proven change manager with a track record of delivering digital change that adds value to customers. You will have the ability to anticipate the full impact of implementing digital change on culture, structure, morale and the impacts on the diverse range of end users, including accessibility needs. Identify early signs that things are going wrong and respond promptly. Provide constructive challenge to senior management on change proposals.
You should have extensive experience and proven ability to deliver change, working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team across boundaries and delegating where appropriate, adding value through strategic thinking.
You should have a track record of developing a change practice, ensuing best practice models and approaches are used consistently.
You should be able to demonstrate a proven ability of using your understanding of the complexity and diversity of customer needs and expectations and the full impact of change on culture, structure and morale, and using your discretion and capability to set your own work plans and approach.
