Reporting to the Deputy Director of Equity and Rights, this exciting role will develop and implement the equality, health inequalities, and human rights agenda within CQC towards continuous improvement and best practice. You will utilise your vast experience in undertaking equality and human rights work in a strategic and policy development context, focussed on improving equity and human rights in service delivery in complex organisations. You will also utilise your experience in ensuring public sector organisations meet their statutory duties relating to equality and human rights. Examples of current work in the Equity and Rights team include developing CQC’s anti-racist strategy and ensuring our future regulatory model meets our strategic ambitions to tackle inequalities through supporting thorough Equality and Human Rights Impact Analyses.

What you will bring…
Experience of managing in an equality, health inequalities or human rights function.
Expert understanding of equality and human rights duties of a public sector organisation, coupled with understanding of equality, health inequalities and human rights issues in health and/ or social care
A strong commitment to developing anti-discriminatory and rights-promoting practice through a range of methods, including leading projects, policy analysis, learning and development interventions and writing guidance
Ability to take a structured approach to problem solving in a policy context and developing policy proposals
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and strong listening skills, which enable you to build strong relationships across teams within the organisation, with senior colleagues including at Executive and Board level and with external stakeholders.
Experience of managing people and projects in a complex environment
Experience of managing in an equality, health inequalities or human rights function.
