Job summary
We are recruiting a Strategic Priorities Lead to join our Strategy Delivery Unit.
As the Strategic Priorities Lead, you will be at the heart of an open and transparent programme of engagement that will shape Ofsted’s strategy for the future. Your innovative ideas and strategic thinking will directly influence decision-making processes at the highest levels, ensuring that Ofsted continues to put children and learners first – especially the most disadvantaged and vulnerable.
You will work at the heart of Ofsted reform in the new Strategy Delivery Unit, leading engagement with the Department for Education and the organisation’s most important internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of Ofsted’s strategic priorities. Reporting directly into our Head of Strategic Priorities and working closely with the Director, Strategy and Engagement.
You will work closely with policy teams from both Ofsted and the Department for Education on strategic priorities such as inspection reform, legislative changes, and policy related to disadvantaged and vulnerable children. You will brief the Chief Inspector and other senior officials, input on key priority policies and strategic decisions, as well as help to drive through the reforms set out in the Big Listen response.

Application and Shortlisting:
The selection panel will assess your 750 word personal statement based on the evidence you have provided against the essential criteria as set out in section 3 of the job description.
You will also be asked to provide information within the “Employer/Activity History” section of the application form. This information is equivalent to the information you would provide on a CV setting out your career history (this may be used in the sifting process).
At sift, your personal statement will be assessed against the following:

Assessment and Interview
Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to a interview where you will be assessed against a combination of the the Civil Service behaviours and the technical/experience skills set out in section 3 of the job specification.
We will invite the most suitable candidates to attend a remote assessment and interview via Microsoft Teams during the week commencing Monday 2 December 2024.
Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.
