Here at Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) we have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERI), to join our team located at RAF Lossiemouth in Moray.
The successful candidate will support DPHC in providing healthcare to military personnel and entitled civilians at RAF Lossiemouth Primary Healthcare Rehabilitation Facility (PCRF) which includes undertaking highly skilled exercise-based work in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury area with the aim of returning the individual back to full fitness for their job role. The ERI will be expected to provide cross-cover when required at Kinloss Medical Centre as part of the North of Scotland Combined Practice.
The position offers 37.5 hours per week and requests to work flexibly will be considered, taking into account business needs.

Job description
The successful candidate will work within the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Programme (DMRP) is to provide a high standard of exercise-based rehabilitation including highly specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area for the Population at Risk (PAR), meeting Standards for Better Health by using a multidisciplinary approach.
Providing full support to the line manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work, peer review and support to Junior/other ERIs working within the Unit.
Person specification
The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Performing appropriate clinical assessments and to design and implement safe and progressive exercise treatment schedules for all patients after the MO/Physiotherapist has made a diagnosis.
- Keeping a record of all specific treatments given and a record of individual patients progression/regression in respect of such treatments on Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP) in accordance with the Standards of Proficiency to Practice (SPP). The ERI is to report any finding to the MO/Physiotherapist.
- To provide clinical reports to assist in the comprehensive discharge planning for both referring source and ongoing patient care under other health professionals.
- Ensuring that the highest standards of confidentiality, recording, filing and storage of patient notes and statistical information are achieved and maintained in accordance with Caldicott Principles and local policy.

Qualifications

Holders of Bachelor of Science (Honours) (BSC (Hons)) in Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation or Sports Therapy.
Memberships

Physiotherapists (Must be member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP))
