Job summary
At Health and Safety Executive (HSE) we want to create the conditions for all colleagues to be healthy, safe and well at work. To ensure we can achieve this aim we have launched an improvement programme to strengthen how we lead Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) through our people then underpin with effective systems.
As part of embedding our Achieving Cultural Excellence (ACE) programme and delivering our 9 Organisational Priorities through our People Plan, we need HSW capability to develop and deliver our health, safety and wellbeing changes through our contractual services and support functions.
The People Plan is a priority for HSE and one that presents exciting and challenging opportunities for colleagues who wish to be part of a HSW improvement programme that will endure and make a real difference to colleagues in HSE.
We are looking for someone who will work closely with HSW team colleagues and committees, HSE divisions, support functions and stakeholders to lead change and advocate health, safety and wellbeing cultural excellence in HSE.
There is the expectation that you will attend our Bootle HQ on an occasional basis for team meetings.
Please note that this role is only suitable for full time working due to business needs.

Job description
As part of your role you will:
Have responsibility for supporting and organising the HSW Team products, contracts and services to enable HSE Divisions to build an excellent HSW culture. This includes our HSW SharePoint site, HSW Management Arrangements and any associated software systems. Our contracts and associated contractual services such as:
- Occupational Health Contract.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Driver Plus Safe Training.
- Orbis Red Alert.
- Cardinus Risk Management for DSE.
- PPE Contract (Technical).
Act as the Data Steward and report on service provision performance to the Capability Lead and act as a direct point of contact for all colleagues on HSW services to support HSW Business Partners in the implementation of any HSW changes.
Have responsibility for daily queries relating to Occupational Health (OH) queries and requests for reasonable adjustments. Providing support to managers in order to agree on the best solution and advise on available HSE products and services.
Work closely with PFPD (Finance) colleagues, and have responsibility for managing HSE products, services and their budgets.
Raise, validate and receipt purchase orders (PO), using standard templates when services are requested before processing through HSE internal system.
Attend monthly meetings with PFPD colleagues to provide updates and a budget forecast to be provided to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
You will have line management responsibility for one team member.

Key skills required include
- The ability to influence thinking and actions on HSW culture through the provision of our contractual services and products.
- Knowledge and experience of tendering for and delivering/managing contractual services and products including knowledge end preferable experience of financial governance and budget management..
- Representing the HSW team and HSE at internal and external meetings and events.
- Building and maintaining effective HSW support networks with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to interpret data from our contracts into key management information that Divisions can use to develop risk management controls.

Sift information
The Sift will take place during week commencing 28th October where you will be assessed on your CV and Personal Statement.
Interview Information
Interviews will take place via Microsoft Teams during week commencing 4th November where you will be assessed on the advertised Behaviours.
