Job description
The successful candidate will be providing clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care in Defence Primary Healthcare dental centres, to enhance force generation
You will be maintaining the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which you are responsible, reporting any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the surgeries are prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations.
- Carrying out and recording daily maintenance, servicing and pre-user checks of dental equipment reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies, completing daily forms for all equipment.
- Ensuring a daily test radiograph is taken and processed with all findings reported in accordance with extant policies and signed off by a clinician or trained individual.
- Maintaining the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which they are responsible, reporting any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.

If found successful for this position, you will be required to provide evidence of your immunity to Hepatitis B. Please note that evidence of your vaccination is not a proof of your immunity, but your serology levels will be required. Failure to provide sufficient evidence may result in the offer of employment being withdrawn.
Candidates who hold the qualifications but are not yet registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) are eligible to apply for this vacancy. However, if found successful it is a requirement that you are registered with the GDC prior to starting in the post.

Please note the salary will be pro-rata where part time hours are undertaken.

Due to COVID 19, there is now a requirement for dental clinical staff to be fit tested for a FFP3 mask, which has to be worn when managing a patient who is undergoing an aerosol generating procedure (AGP). The successful candidate will be fit tested prior to commencing employment.
Access to the NHS pension scheme is available to the successful candidate.
There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.
The post does NOT offer relocation expenses (move of home, excess fares or temporary transfer). Non Standard move applicants will be eligible for the full package, subject to eligibility.
