Job description

Role 

Our Test team works with our Agile teams to deliver positive outcomes on a range of projects and programmes for both the organisation, and saver, for years to come. 
 
Our team are dedicated to ensuring that our software and applications work correctly and meet quality standards. You will be operating within an exciting and dynamic company-wide technology change programme, which will see the development and delivery of new systems enabling us to support regulatory activity in the business. As Test Lead, you will deliver tactical and strategic projects to the business. 
 
The role will be hybrid with 6 days per months office working in a friendly, supportive team. 

Responsibilities 

As a TPR Test Lead You will:  
 

  • Support the delivery of excellent outcomes for Change and IT delivery. 
  • Deliver Test Strategy and Test Plans (Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid) to support testing on all the in-scope applications and systems in TPR 
  • Actively participate in process improvement with regards to the functional and/or non-functional testing frameworks within TPR 
  • Build End to End testing scenarios (manual and/or automated) to support Change and BAU  
  • Supervise the building of robust regression packs (manual and/or automated) to support BAU releases 
  • Focus on the quality delivery for product releases and report effectively on behalf of the deployed testers 
  • Supporting line management and other management processes as delegated by the Test Manager

Essential and Desirable Criteria 

Essential skills: 
 

  • Demonstrable experience of testing techniques, standards, methodologies and best practice gained in a software development or testing environment including trouble shooting issues and help identifying the root cause.  
  • Working knowledge and experience of the end-to-end software testing process (from identifying test scenarios, to writing tests and raising defects).  
  • Good working knowledge of test management tools e.g. Test Rail, HPALM, Microsoft Test Manager.  
  • Ability to mentor test analysts on the team using their enhanced skills helping to identify relevant quality related training needs and assisting in delivering training.  
  • Lead a team working within a project or work stream, assisting within work streams t implement project improvement plans.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve the TPR goals set out in the TPR Test Strategy. 
  • Ability to co-ordinate testing supporting live incidents and the resolution of live issues and communicate at all levels for reporting and for critical issues / risks in a timely manner. 

 
Desirable skills: 

  • ISTQB/ISEB Foundation Certificate or similar related work experience  
  • Experience with Microsoft Technology Stack and associated tools i.e., Azure Dev Ops. 
  • Working experience of testing methodologies including waterfall and Agile Scrum/Kanban
