Job summary

The Markets Partners & Places (MPP) South East Team is looking for a Project Manager to join our experienced team. We are focussed on unlocking tens of thousands of homes across the South East region in sustainable, well-designed communities. We do this by supporting the coordination and delivery of complex, large-scale new settlement and regeneration projects.  We work collaboratively with local authorities, combined authorities, central Government and leading private sector partners. This is an exciting role offering the opportunity to participate in the region’s most transformational projects and work in partnership to meet housing need.

Job description

The team work on long term projects requiring complex or multiple interventions to unlock and drive housing delivery forward. We also coordinate a range of interventions offered by Homes England meaning you will be at the heart of the Agency’s ability to support housing and regeneration, including through loan finance. We coordinate partnerships between the public and private sectors to bring the required mix of capital, land, and delivery expertise to each project.

In line with our place-based working practices, we focus on locations where housing delivery is most needed to address acute social challenges including affordability, housing supply and tenure mix. Our mission is to accelerate the delivery of high-quality homes and places in these locations, whilst also supporting economic growth through regeneration.

This is a rare chance to work for an organisation with real social purpose, one which is uniquely positioned to shape the future of place-based housing delivery and regeneration in the South East.  Working with influential stakeholders, you will support our experienced team in driving delivery of a range of complex workstreams.

Person specification

We are looking for someone to join our Team who understands and is passionate about the delivery of quality homes, placemaking and regeneration and wants to work in an inclusive, supportive and driven team.

You will be motivated by the transformative impact of placemaking and understand the ability of a development led response to tackle social deprivation and economic underperformance.

You’ll understand the development delivery process and have experience of working in development, preferably in the land assembly, design, planning, funding or delivery stage, in either the public or private sector.

You’ll understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners to foster collaborative, results driven working.

You’ll have the ability to learn quickly on complex projects, undertake analysis and input into reports for internal and external readership.

You’ll have worked in environments and on projects where attention to detail is of paramount importance.

This role is a hybrid position and requires presence in our Guildford, Northstowe (Cambridge), Birmingham or Bristol office 1-2 days per week to meet the needs of the role.
