Job summary
The Cap Co Spt role is to assist to maintain oversight, provide meaningful TLB specific input and lead in providing support to Defence Digital project team with the rollout of all new IT capabilities. This includes the MODNET Modernisation program on the official tier which includes projects such as Multi-factor authentication, Manage Print Service, migration to Win 11 and the transition to a new device support contract. The position will also provide specific input into other DD lead programs such as Fixed Voice Official and any changes made on the Secret Tier. They will also over asset management across the TLB of iPads, iPhone, Surface Pros, Desktops and Laptops.
The position will also help facilitate effective communication channel between HLBs and Project Teams for all requirements that the TLB are required to contribute to. Lastly they will Assist in setting TLB direction and coordinating implementation of new capabilities in line with the Data Lab to ensure Standards and Principles are adhered to and to promote innovative ways of working with new capability entering service
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
