Job summary
The Chief Executive is responsible for leading the organisation to deliver the departmental strategy and for the organisation’s performance and expenditure. The Chief Executive will be a Commissioner of Revenue & Customs and is also appointed by the HM Treasury as Accounting Officer with responsibilities to Parliament for financial management, value for money and the running of the Department as set out in Managing Public Money.
The Chief Executive will report directly to the Cabinet Secretary: they will be responsible to the Board and ultimately Ministers for the delivery of HMRC’s strategic objectives.
