Job summary
The SFO is looking for an experienced internal communication manager to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary communication team. The successful candidate for this role will be a proactive and confident self-starter, with a strong track record of planning and delivering internal communications which support organisational objectives.
Reporting to the Head of Internal Communication, you will be responsible for planning and delivering communications that are timely, engaging and impact-full. Working with Communication Team colleagues and our expert legal, investigations and intelligence teams, you will creatively communicate the SFO’s story internally. Through strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation you will develop and deliver communications which inform staff, drive behaviour change and help shape the SFO culture, ensuring colleagues feel informed, listened to and engaged. You will have a demonstrable, excellent understanding of internal communication, including change communications and channel development.
You will have experience of communicating high profile or sensitive matters to internal audiences and will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to adapt quickly to changing needs or priorities. You’ll also be an excellent net-worker who can build relationships with colleagues at all levels and have the confidence to brief and advise Board members on their communication and engagement with staff.
Job description
As a Internal Communication Manager you will be responsible for:
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the SFO, our work and the key issues affecting our internal audiences.
- Plan internal communications and campaigns which deliver high quality comms products through a range of internal channels.
- Work with colleagues at all levels across the SFO to maintain a forward look of communication activities, opportunities and risks, maintaining our planned approach to internal communications in SFO.
- Support the Head of Internal Communication to develop our internal communication strategy.
- Handle business as usual communication requests, including editing and drafting intranet news copy.
- Build and maintain excellent, collaborative professional relationships with key internal stakeholders.
- Offer evidence-based communications handling advice to senior management and colleagues across the organisation.
- Lead the evaluation of our internal communications.
