The Role

We’re recruiting for a Power Platform Developer here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Data & Business Intelligence team.

This role aligns with Senior Developer from the Government Digital and Data Framework

You will form part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering various outcomes supporting the wider Technology Services teams. You will play a key role within the team whose deliverables include: -

  • Development of data products such as data warehousing, data models, reporting, and business applications at scale to support improved business outcomes.
  • Provide specialist skills in Microsoft Power Platform, specifically Power Apps, Microsoft Fabric (specifically Power BI), Power Automate and Dataverse, to create & deliver business intelligence solutions and maintain existing solutions.
  • Analysis of data focusing on descriptive and diagnostic analytics.
  • Provision of insights to inform decision-makers and other stakeholders.
  • Provision of a managed service to support projects and BAU activities.
  • Governance of data quality across systems to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained, providing high levels of assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take development lead on User requirements to design Model-Driven/Canvas PowerApps/Automation workflows that increase efficiency and support business outcomes.
  • Translate user stories to a proposed design and develop software to meet user needs. Collaborate with user researchers, represent users internally and champion user research to focus on all users.
  • Adherence to Internal MOJ processes and standards in the development phase
  • Use security controls to build secure products and engineer to mitigate security threats. Handle information with confidentiality and integrity, work with others to ensure compliance and information assurance. Contribute to identifying risks and threats.
  • Design and embed operational controls in the design phase to ensure the accuracy, completeness and consistency of data
  • Support and maintain software as required, including support in the live environment. Use modern tools to effectively and thoroughly identify and troubleshoot faults. Package and deploy software built.
  • Build and test simple interfaces between systems, or work on more complex integration as part of a wider team.
  • Use data modelling techniques to design and build PowerBI-based dashboards (and related infrastructure) to solve business issues.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Domain experts to gain operational insights.
  • Participate in technical communities to stay informed of Power Platform evolution and best practices and changes within the broader discipline and share them with the MOJ
  • Educate users and stakeholders on self-service solutions.
  • Effectively contract and communicate with customers, partners, and co-workers to define deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Coach and mentor more junior colleagues

Person Specification

Essential

  • Demonstrate through examples, taking user's stories through design and development with collaboration with stakeholders
  • Certification or equivalent experience and expertise in using Power Platform technologies, especially
    • Power Apps (including Canvas/model-driven apps), Power BI (including other elements of Microsoft Fabric), Dataverse, Sharepoint and Power Automate development.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Evidence participation in technical communities and ongoing Power Platform evolution knowledge
  • Technical knowledge, experience and development of
    • DAX query writing SQL, Dataverse, Web APIs (SOAP/REST) & Other Data connectors
    • Tooling (GIT/JIRA/Azure DevOps/Confluence)
  • Support & Documentation – Evidence Solution Design, Data Models, Operations Run Books and solution support/troubleshooting using appropriate toolsets.

  • Technical knowledge, experience and development of DAX query writing SQL, Dataverse, Web APIs (SOAP/REST) & Other Data connectors
  • Tooling (GIT/JIRA/Azure DevOps/Confluence)
  • Evidence participation in technical communities and ongoing Power Platform evolution knowledge

You will also be required to develop and deliver a presentation on a topic which will be provided if you are successfully sifted through to interview.
