Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to lead strategic People projects at Acas, whilst studying for a Level 7 Senior People Professional CIPD apprenticeship.
The main focus of the role will be to combine HR expertise, business knowledge and project management skills to lead projects that will have impactful change across all HR disciplines.
The job holder will focus on building strong, collaborative working relationships across the organisation. They will work in partnership with the People Directorate team to deliver and contribute to the success of the Acas People and Culture Strategy.
It is a full-time apprenticeship role for 34 months.
Job description
In this role you will:
- Lead strategic HR projects, across the whole employee lifecycle in a variety of HR disciplines.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Provide a customer focussed service with clear deliverables and success measures.
- Use analytical tools to gather data and interpret people analytics to make evidence-based decisions.
- Project manage large, complex organisational wide projects focusing on stakeholder engagement and change management best practice.
- Oversee work and relationships with external providers and the Cabinet Office to ensure that the right activities at the right time are commissioned.
- Manage external suppliers to ensure they provide value for money and meet the organisation’s needs.
- Deliver impactful presentations and facilitate workshops and focus groups to engage with people across the organisation.
- Use technology to manage people practices.
- Apply best practice from Human Resources, industry and academic research.

Person specification
Experience
Essential:
- Experience of creating and delivering people plans in line with organisational and people strategy (Lead).
- Working knowledge of human resources practices including casework, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, policy, learning & development and workforce planning.
- Experience of managing projects using project and change management methodology.
- Experience of using diagnostic and analytical tools and an understanding of methods of evaluating data including qualitative and quantitative metrics.
- Experience of using a consulting approach to people practices.
- Experience of coaching and mentoring leaders and managers.
Desirable:
- Experience of using financial and commercial information to make decisions.
- Experience of using technology to support the delivery of people practices.
Qualifications
• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English Language ((A*-C or grade 4 and above)

A Situational Judgement test as part of the online application, this will follow immediately after the initial short application form is submitted. If you successfully pass the test, you will be invited to complete the full application. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift of all the above requirements or progressed straight to assessment/interview.

This means that if you have met the minimum requirements at sift you may be placed at a ‘Hold’ status for up to 12 months and if we are able to invite you to an interview we will be in touch.
Interview Details
If you have successfully passed sift, you will be invited to an interview via MS Teams which is likely to take place week commencing 11 November 2024. The interview will be a Behaviour, Strength and Experience interview and will also include a presentation.
A reserve list will be created for this position, this means that if you have passed the interview, but we couldn’t offer you this position, you’ll be on a reserve list for 12 months if a similar position becomes available.
