Job summary
We are looking for a Digital Communications Manager to join our Communications Office at the House of Lords. This is a position where you report to the Head of Marketing and Digital Communications and work alongside one other Digital Communications Manager, a Digital Content Officer, and Content and Editorial Officer.
You will be jointly responsible for leading on the delivery of the House of Lords' corporate communications across the House of Lords website, social media channels and other digital platforms, and for ensuring that all services and content are timely, of consistently high quality and engage audiences.
This is an opportunity to work on a hybrid basis with some days at home and some days onsite at Parliament.
Job description
You’ll be accountable for:
- Development and delivery of the House of Lords digital and social media strategy.
- Managing a programme of daily House of Lords social media content.
- Leading the creation of a programme of campaigns to raise awareness of the work of the House and its members and demonstrate impact.
- Utilising audience insight to plan, deliver and evaluate our work, develop audiences and increase stakeholder engagement with the Lords.
- Overarching management of House of Lords social media channels and supporting best practice.
- Supporting other Lords social media account owners, including Lords committees, on best practice, providing advice on day-to-day content and technical management, content strategy, analytics provision and ongoing support and training.
Person specification
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent digital communications and content skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent campaign skills, including evaluation, using insight, planning and delivery of campaigns.
It would be even better if you had or if you’re willing to learn…
- A good understanding of the UK Parliament and its constitutional and political framework.
- Practical knowledge and experience of filming and editing techniques for video production/audio recording.
