Job summary

As Deputy Director for Integrated Care, Inequalities and Improvement, you will ensure a continuous focus on accelerating and driving improvement on behalf of the sector and across the system, improving outcomes for people and communities through the delivery of our regulatory functions.

You’ll bring together the external, internal and frontline views on where we focus our attention and develop our response to key issues, whilst ensuring user voices are heard across all our work, driving the equalities agenda and supporting smarter regulation. 

Job description

An effective communicator, you will forge strong working relationships across CQC through a partnership approach to deliver our strategic vision and priorities. 

Working closely with Regulatory Leadership Directors, the Chief Inspectors, Operations Senior Leadership Teams, and other stakeholders you will trial regulatory approaches and be the named sponsor for thematic reviews, shaping and influencing regulatory policy for the sector.  

Accountable to the Director for Integrated Care, Inequalities and Improvement, this is an exciting interim role, operating at a senior level providing sector expertise and effective leadership.

Person specification

We are looking for someone who will bring passion, determination and leadership to the role to make it a success!  An individual with significant knowledge and previous experience of working in health, social care, NHS or regulatory environment or related fields.  You’ll also have significant experience of shaping operational policy, risk management and leading / managing change in a complex and fast-moving environment.

You will have knowledge of regulation, operational and government policy as well as significant sector expertise of Integrated Care, Inequalities and Improvement and an understanding of the Health and Social Care system.
