This role will normally be based at Tŷ Hywel in Cardiff Bay with hybrid working. It is anticipated that you will need to attend the office at least 1 day per week, but is subject to any change in business requirements and associated working patterns.

We will provide the equipment and support required for you to successfully work from home and in the office.

Job summary

The Senedd uses technology in innovative ways to engage with the people of Wales and provide services to Members of the Senedd. To help facilitate this, ICT have adopted,  developed and deployed a range of applications from Microsoft’s suite of technologies.­­­

As part of this adoption, we have migrated many solutions to the Microsoft 365 (M365) stack. These include Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and Power BI. Also included are products within the Power Platform, specifically PowerApps, Forms and Power Automate.

The team is also heavily involved in the exploration of Microsoft Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that have the potential to aid general productivity, accessibility and wellbeing.  

To continue to provide excellent levels of support to all users, and to extract maximum benefit from the tools available, we have introduced a dedicated M365 team.

You role will be to assist the team in the management of supported applications to agreed service levels. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to continually increase awareness of the products to maximise improvement opportunities, as well as working with internal and external learning providers to ensure a complimentary suite of training packages.

Job description

  • Monitor and manage tickets assigned to the M365 team within our IT Service Management (ITSM) tool, helping to ensure timely resolution and adherence to SLAs
  • Assist with general administration and monitoring the health of the M365 environment
  • Provide support for the development and delivery of the managed training provision for all aspects of M365 products
  • Assist with the technical management of the Senedd’s intranets
  • Help to ensure that appropriate process, procedures, and any associated documentation is in place to monitor performance and capacity
  • Assist with the administration of bespoke-developed solutions across M365. This includes products within the Power Platform such as Forms, Power Automate and Bookings
  • Work with project teams where M365 may provide a direct solution, or where integrations are required with 3rd party products
  • Maintain awareness of M365 platform updates, features and functionality
  • Any other duties commensurate with the level of the post.

Person specification

Job Specific criteria:

  1. Experience with ITSM Tools
    Experience managing and resolving tickets within IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, helping to ensure adherence to SLAs.
  2. Expertise in M365
    Demonstrable expertise using a wide range of products within the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment, keeping pace with the latest features and functionality.
  3. Collaboration and Communication Skills
    Proven ability to communicate and collaborate efficiently with colleagues and project teams to achieve successful results.
  4. Adaptability and Flexibility
    Experience being adaptable and flexible, willing to take on additional duties and adjust to changing priorities.
