The Role

We’re recruiting for a Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) (Hardware) Manager here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Service Operations team.

This role aligns against Senior IT Service Manager from the Government Digital and Data Framework.

The SACM Hardware Manager will contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality Service Asset & Configuration Management Service. They will contribute to the design and implement the Service Asset & Configuration Management process, and drive adoption and continual improvement in its execution.

They will operate a governance framework for Service Asset & Configuration Management, including integrating and coordinating the work of all suppliers involved. Additionally, they will assure the quality of all supplier work undertaken as part of the Service Asset & Configuration Management process.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Draw from previous experience and industry best practices to support delivery of strategic goals.
  • Engage with other service management processes to support SACM deliverables.
  • Work with tools and technologies as required to support the tracking of IT Assets.
  • Manage documentation of procedures, processes, knowledge articles and reports concerning Service Asset & Configuration Management.
  • Work with Suppliers, Project Managers, Service Owners and other key stakeholders to ensure SACM policies, procedures and processes are aligned and adhered too, include Joiners, movers and leavers (JML).
  • Govern and support the processes regarding the effectiveness of the CMDB, including verification of CMDB content through physical/virtual audits, identifying any risks or issues.
  • Drive forward activities to deliver key Service Improvements including VFM opportunities.
  • Line Management responsibilities as required, inspire and motivate team to deliver service excellence, coaching and developing individuals to the best of their ability.
  • Ensure monthly asset charges align to actual usage and volumes
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are monitored and met providing reports on a scheduled / unscheduled basis as required by management.
  • Provide clear evidence-based recommendations on asset utilisation / volumetrics, etc, to enable SMT, projects and business areas to make informed decisions.
  • Take part in other ITSM processes, or as required perform as a back up to maintain operational activities.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Asset and configuration management - You can maintain secure configuration and accurate information, controlling IT assets in one or more significant areas, and verifying location and state of assets.
  • User Focus - You can identify needs and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence. You understand and can define research that fits user needs. You can use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes.
  • Understanding of service management framework - You have a Level 3 Service Management Framework qualification and knowledge of life-cycle and / or capability elements of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).
  • Service Focus - You know how to see the bigger picture and can investigate how to get the best of underlying services.
  • Relationship Management - You can identify important stakeholders and relationships and work with teams to build these. You understand how to work with stakeholders and contribute to improving these relationships.
  • Ownership and initiative - You can own an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.
  • Strategic Thinking - You can work within a strategic context and communicate how activities meet strategic goals. You can contribute to the development of strategy and policies.
  • Service Reporting - You can produce relevant reports in a standard format in an agreed timeframe. You can work with important stakeholders to discuss any changes in the reporting processes. You can add a commentary that provides an interpretation for the data set.
  • Business Analysis (IT Operations) - You know how to investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes and contribute to recommending solutions to these. You can work with stakeholders to identify objectives and potential benefits.
