Job summary

There is an opportunity to join our team as one of three travel bookers for the Honington / Global Enablement Travel Cell. The post holder will make bookings and provide support and guidance to personnel on travel related matters.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week, over 5 days.

Job description

  • Provide support and guidance for all personnel on Travel related matters.
    • Manage the Travel Cell Multi-User email account.
    • Process all incoming Applications for Duty Travel ensuring policy compliance.
    • Book seats for Civilian Air travel through the Defence Travel Amex GBT Booking Service.
    • Book Rail Tickets through the Defence Travel Amex GBT Booking Service.
    • Book UK and Overseas Hotels through the Defence Travel Amex GBT Booking Service.
    • Book Eurostar through the Defence Travel GBT Booking Service.
    • Book Trooper flights with Defence Passenger Reservation Service (DPRC).
    • Book standard Ferry and Eurotunnel bookings with Defence Travel Amex GBT Booking Service
    •.Book Ferry and Eurotunnel bookings for large vehicles / hazardous goods direct with Ferry companies and pay using ePC card.
    • Maintain ePC records, reconcile with ePC monthly statement.
    • Deal with all email, telephone and face to face enquiries relating to travel.

Person specification

We are looking for a motivated, confident individual who is able to work own their own initiative, whilst ensuring policy compliance.  Our team is busy, friendly and supportive - so we are looking for a great team player and someone who has experience in delivering customer service, with excellent attention to detail.  IT proficiency with experience of Outlook, SharePoint, Excel and Word is essential for this role.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working.  This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
