As a Process-based evaluation of climate projections for Africa Industrial Placement, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week. Our people are at the heart of what we do and we'll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.
Job description
- Develop software to compute diagnostics for key processes driving African climate and use it to assess how well our models are able to represent these processes and what changes we might expect to see in the future. - Has a scientific background (e.g. physical science, computer science, engineering or mathematics) with good coding skills, preferably in Python [We're experts by nature].
- Has experience in writing and presenting scientific information and is willing to communicate with others to discuss ideas for progressing the project [We're better together].
- Can work independently and flexibly, able to devise new approaches to tackle problems that arise [We keep evolving].

Whilst this is a temporary position until July 2026, there is potential for it to develop into an opportunity to join our Graduate Development scheme once you have completed your University studies.
Your package includes:
- Your salary will be £25,606
- Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days
- Access to discounted shopping, inclusive of retail, leisure and lifestyle brands
