Job summary
The purpose of this role is to:
- Lead digital project and product teams, ensuring that delivery is to the correct quality, on time and on budget
- Deliver elements of the role such as procurement, budget management and stakeholder engagement under guidance and mentorship of the Product Manager and Lead Delivery Manager.
You must meet the essential qualification requirement (Certified Scrum Master or Equivalent) in order to be eligible to apply for this role.
Job description
in this role you will:
- Lead and plan delivery on digital workstreams, working with the product manager to make sure product goals are met.
- Coach and support delivery teams to continually improve their processes, capability, and capacity, using an appropriate range of agile tools and techniques.
- Provide support to colleagues across the business to help procure, plan, and deliver their digital projects.
- Build relationships with colleagues across the business through facilitating collaborative activities or by providing specific support with planning or running agile projects.
- Build strong links with the delivery manager community across government, and with colleagues in BEIS Digital team and Government Digital Services (GDS).
- Advocate for the user, by presenting compelling evidence from user research within Acas to senior management and relevant external audiences; and making sure the insight the team produce is widely shared and used in decision making.
- Actively engage in the delivery manager community of practice. Share knowledge and best practices with the group.

- Working knowledge using agile frameworks, values and principles to produce digital products (Lead).
- Understands the impact of risks, issues, or dependencies on a team's work.
- Takes responsibility and accountability for quality outcomes ensuring stakeholders and senior managers are informed on progress against milestones.
Desirable
- Demonstrate knowledge in managing budget.
Experience
Essential
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary delivery team (Lead).
- Experience facilitating workshop, sprint events and meeting with stakeholders.
- Experience improving team performance by monitoring and evaluating performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes.
- Proven ability to balance competing priorities and negotiate solutions with stakeholders and teams.
Desirable
- Coaching and mentoring team members to help them develop their skills and work more effectively in a collaborative environment.

As part of the application process, you will be asked to complete:
An evidence-based statement of suitability and CV reflecting the essential Experience and Technical requirements as listed in the Job Description. Your statement of suitability should be no longer than 1,250 words. It should avoid generalised assertions, instead including specific examples of achievements, explaining the degree of challenge, what you did and the outcomes.

Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be conducted using the:
Lead Criteria:

Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift of all the above requirements or progressed straight to assessment/interview.
If a large number of applications meet the minimum standard an interview wait list may be created for this position. This means that if you have met the minimum requirements at sift you may be placed at a ‘Hold’ status for up to 12 months and if we are able to invite you to an interview we will be in touch.
Interview Details
If you have successfully passed sift, you will be invited to an interview via MS Teams which is likely to take place week commencing 28 October 2024. The interview will be a Behaviour, Strength, Technical and Experience interview and will also include a presentation.
A reserve list will be created for this position, this means that if you have passed the interview, but we couldn’t offer you this position, you’ll be on a reserve list for 12 months if a similar position becomes available.
