Job description
The Operational Delivery Fast Stream programme is designed to grow our pipeline of high-performing operational leaders who oversee the vital services that meet citizens’ needs and make a difference in people’s lives. You will do this by leading through others to turn government policies, strategies and plans into real tangible outcomes.
With a membership of over 270,000 individuals spanning various departments, agencies, and arms-length bodies, Operational Delivery Profession (ODP) helps millions of people who rely on public services at home and abroad every minute of the day.
We strive to achieve excellence in Operational Delivery across government by developing our operational capabilities. Members of the profession are the face of our public service, and those who don’t have a role in delivering services directly to the public support those that do. Those working in operations lead skilled people who are high performing, adaptable and take personal responsibility to deliver improved outcomes for citizens.
Our profession is committed to investing in our members by:
• supporting development
• helping individuals progress
• building a sense of community

Assessment Phases
There are 3 online tests:
Using Data - In this test you will be asked to weigh up options and to make decisions on different scenarios, perform calculations, solve problems and evaluate and interpret numerical information.
Work-based scenarios - This test measures interpersonal skills, utilising video based scenarios and you are required to assess the effectiveness of various responses.
Case Study assessment - In this test you are required to take Work based scenarios on an imaginary role, learning and responding to a series of challenges and situations and adapting to the changes you are presented with.
Additional information - depending on the schemes you have chosen, there may be additional information to be completed, or an intermediate sift process.
The FSAC reflects some of the key elements of a Fast Stream role and will consist of a Written Advice Exercise, Stakeholder Communication Exercise and Personal Development Conversation. Information will be presented via an app that you will be able to access remotely on a laptop.
