Job summary

His Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom’s Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, First Mine Counter Measure Squadron and 43 Commando Royal Marines.  It is an operational support and maintenance Naval Base within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites.  HMNB Clyde’s primary purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD).  This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year.

RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons.

HMNB Clyde is the single operational home of the Submarine Service and will become the United Kingdom’s Submarine Centre of Excellence.  This single integrated operating base is to ensure that the Royal Navy is able to deliver its operational commitments across all Defence Lines of Development from Scotland on an enduring basis.

This provides an excellent opportunity for commencing and developing an exciting and challenging career within the Ministry of Defence and Civil Service.

The HMNB Clyde Security Organisation (CSyO) is responsible for the Force Protection measures that protect both Faslane and RNAD Coulport sites from a wide range of threats against the establishments and their outputs, including the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, SSBN and SSN submarine programmes, and the Nuclear Weapon programme.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
