Job summary
The Defence College of Support (DCSp) delivers training to all Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force service personnel in Supply, Distribution, Driving, Catering, Policing & Guarding and Personnel Administration.
The college is made up of 3 schools; Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA) predominantly based at Worthy Down; Defence School of Policing and Security (DSPS) in Southwick Park; and Defence School of Transport (DST) at Leconfield. The college headquarters is also based at Worthy Down – a newly built, modern campus in Hampshire.
These roles sit within the Defence Movements Training Squadron (DMTS) based at RAF Brize Norton, providing first-class training to 1500 trainees per training year. We are seeking instructors to instruct Movements Controller training and Government Authorised Explosives Representative & Authorised Representative (Road) training.
These positions are advertised at 37 hours per week, and attendance to the stated site will be required. This is flexible around the courses and can be reviewed with the line manager.
Job description
Specific tasks that our Logistics Instructors will deliver:
- The preparation of lesson plans, employing a wide use of Learning Technologies.
- Instructional delivery of the courses.
- Day to day course administration and allocation to the invigilation programme.
- Set mentoring programmes, mentor new trainers, and conduct line management responsibilities as appropriate in their area of responsibility.
- Initial counselling, coaching, mentoring and duty of care of students, ensuring good conduct and discipline levels are maintained.
- Supervision of students.
- Arrange and deliver remedial/extra tuition as required.
- Identify any errors in the training material and undertake remedial action.
Person specification
The Movement Controller Instructor positions at the Defence Movements Training Squadron (DMTS) offers an exciting opportunity to work in a front-facing military training establishment, based at the biggest Royal Air Force base in the world.
Working within an established team, your flair and enthusiasm will be key to deliver training. You will lead the maintenance and delivery of specialist movements training, teaching military, civil servant and contractor personnel, both in person or remotely.
Using the full suite of residential and virtual technologies, you will be empowered to deliver first-class specialist training to up to 1500 trainees per training year.
We are seeking applicants who are forward leaning, enthusiastic and are able to work proactively to achieve outcomes. Due to the variety of ranks and backgrounds, applicants will need to be effective communicators and confident to deliver working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.

Sifting is planned to be completed WC 30th September 24 with Interviews scheduled from 9th Oct 24.
Candidates who are invited to interview be be assessed against the required CS behaviours and will be required to deliver a 10 minute presentation on a subject of the candidates choice.
