Job summary
We are looking for new Project Managers to join the Programme Delivery Team.
National Savings and Investments (NS&I) has embarked on a re-procurement of its’ outsourced business process services and is now in the middle of its Transformation Programme. This presents an exciting opportunity for our business and to those involved in delivering its’ future.
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the management and delivery of a high-value transition state project, ensuring the success of the wider programme by ensuring the project is delivered to time, cost and quality.
The role holder will be responsible for coordinating all activities including the specification, procurement, implementation and business change aspects associated with the allocated transition state working with dedicated project team members and relevant subject matter experts from across NS&I.
This is an excellent, unique opportunity for existing project managers and experienced change managers to join a diverse and motivated delivery team, driving pivotal and lasting improvements for our business and customers.

Essential qualifications
A recognised current project management practitioner qualification, e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM Practitioner.
Essential experience
- Substantial experience of Project Management preferably in a change and banking environment
- Significant experience of working in a project delivery environment, providing leadership and clarity of expected deliverables and required work packages to project team and key stakeholders
- Experience of engaging and coordinating delivery directly with strategic partners and suppliers
- Practical experience of successfully managing a variety of projects using a variety of methodologies, including business change and IT projects, covering the entire project lifecycle. This experience should include some of the following:
- projects associated with achieving a strategic long term plan,
- shorter tactical projects,
- projects defining and delivering policy changes/adjustments, new products, procedural changes or infrastructure changes,
- smaller operational changes projects with a variety of budgets
Essential skills
- Ability to manage both related and unrelated projects concurrently
- Ability to effectively manage and deliver results through teams of experienced professionals from different functions providing guidance and advice where necessary
- Ability to think strategically and to understand how projects and programmes help deliver the strategic plans of a business
- Ability to work accurately at pace and deliver reports to senior colleagues.
Essential technical knowledge
- Practical experience of PRINCE2
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft project management software and familiarity with other project management software
- Sound knowledge of project management practices and techniques, covering the entire project lifecycle
- A thorough understanding of project assurance, and the techniques and methods that can be used to provide it

If shortlisted, you will be invited to attend a 1 hour panel interview via video call.
As part of this interview you will be asked to make a 10 minute presentation.

A reserve list may be held for a period of 12 months from which further appointments can be made.
Working for NS&I
NS&I is currently working in a hybrid way with colleagues expected to work in the office for 40% of their working month and this will be increasing to 60% of their working month in early 2025. If you are applying to work in London, the role is currently based in Sanctuary Buildings, Great Smith Street, SW1P 3BT and in early winter 2025 it is anticipated that NS&I will be moving out of Sanctuary Buildings and into another office within central London.
Any move to NS&I from another employer will mean you can no longer access childcare vouchers. This includes moves between government departments.
