Job summary

Would you like to play a key role in setting the direction of DVLA recruitment?

Do you enjoy building positive working relationships with others?

Can you utilise your experience to advise professional stakeholders on recruitment solutions?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

This fantastic opportunity will enable you to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across DVLA and allow you to put your own stamp on the role.

Job description

In this role you will work closely with the Senior Resourcing Lead to support the development, implementation, and management of a range of strategic resourcing and delivery interventions to attract and recruit diverse and quality talent. You will use your resourcing expertise to provide valuable advice and guidance to the business, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

You will invest time in developing and maintaining effective, collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders, both within and outside of the Department.

You’ll work closely with DfT’s Department for Resourcing Group (DRG) to understand and support DVLA recruitment, attracting and recruiting new talent.

The role sits within a small HR team and so you will need to be self-motivated and have the initiative to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Working to establish an effective customer relationship that allows DVLA to work collaboratively with DRG and the Government Recruitment Service (GRS)
  • Working with the Senior Resourcing Lead to support vacancy holders with hard-to-fill roles, considering alternative attraction and resourcing options, including talent acquisition
  • Reviewing key campaigns and conducting regular analysis of recruitment data and recommending/implementing continuous improvements as a result
  • Supporting the Senior Resourcing Lead, to upskill HR Business Consultants and recruitment support teams, ensuring consistency in recruitment matters that are aligned with the Civil Service Recruitment Principles
  • Managing the joiners and leavers processes, including exit interviews and the new starter survey, analysing findings to inform recruitment and retention strategies

For further information about the role please see the attached role profile.

Additional Information

Applications will be accepted from full time/part time/job sharers. Full time roles at DVLA consist of 37 hours per week. Part time and/or flexible working may also be available subject to the needs of the business. If you have a flexible or part time working requirement, you should contact the vacancy holder in advance of making an application to avoid possible disappointment later in the process should your desired working arrangements not be compatible with the requirements of the role. To contact the vacancy holder, please use the job contact details listed under ‘Contact point for applicants’.

Person specification

You will be someone who loves to work in collaboration with others. You are a confident person who enjoys building solid working relationships at all levels.

You will have substantial recruitment and resourcing experience including experience of the end-to-end recruitment process, working with vacancy holders to deliver a high-quality service.

You strive towards creating a continuous improvement culture by collaborating with stakeholders, sharing information, resources and support. With your excellent organisational skills, you have the capability to prioritise and handle challenging demands.

In addition, excellent communication skills will come naturally to you, and you can communicate complex information clearly, in a way that others can understand. You will be confident in providing robust resourcing recommendations, challenging and influencing others when needed to drive positive outcomes.

You will have excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex situations conceptually and provide workable solutions. You will have experience of analysing and interpreting data, able to draw conclusions and suggest improvements as a result.

If you do not already hold a CIPD qualification, then you will have the opportunity to work towards this.

Due to the evolving nature of the business, vacancies can become available at any time. Therefore, this campaign may create a reserve list to fulfil demand if it arises which will be held for a period of 12 months.
