Job summary
Here at Chief Digital Information Office (CDIO) we recognise the need for a change in the way we do business to remove bureaucracy, improve our agility and maximise out investment in the front-line.
We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join the team at CDIO. The Business Analyst will cover a diverse range of activities across several projects within the CDIO Project Portfolio, working as part of a team to support the delivery of the DMS Digital Strategy, providing advice, support and guidance to identify and shape new and existing digital transformation services and projects.
The Defence Medical Services offer hybrid working. The HQ and primary location for the DMS is Lichfield. Other base locations may be available depending on business need and whether the location can accommodate additional personnel on site. Other locations that may be considered are MOD Corsham, RAF Wyton, MOD Abbey Wood - Bristol, MOD Northwood and MOD Shrivenham.
This position offers 37 hours per week. Requests to work flexibly and/or part time will be considered, taking into account business needs.

Person specification
Main details of the role include but are not limited to:
- Leading and coordinating requirement activities, their validation and sign-off.
- Analysing and evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, collating and articulating high-level business needs before deconstructing into detailed business requirements and user stories (in collaboration with the User Researcher). Using a range of techniques (including facilitating discovery workshops, interviews, document analysis, surveys, business process analysis, scenarios and workflow analysis) to determine this information.
- Liaising with business owners, business architects, change and technical teams to ensure proposed capability delivers business
and user requirements. - Developing and maintaining associated documentation (decisions, assumptions, functional requirements, non-functional requirements, user stories and associated acceptance criteria). Managing all throughout the project lifecycle ensuring traceability
and version control. - Identifying and assessing new and alternative approaches to performing business activities and opportunities for improvement or automation.
