Job description

Do you want to support DSIT’s mission to improve people’s lives by maximizing the potential of science and technology?
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Regulators’ Pioneer Fund innovation programme that aims to keep UK at the forefront of regulatory thinking and experimentation. The RPF sponsors innovative projects led by UK regulators and local authorities, which aim to help create a UK regulatory environment that encourages business innovation and investment.
Currently in its third round, the RPF has invested in 59 innovation-supporting projects across the UK, covering a wide range of sectors and industries, ranging from AI, data, and medicines to the environment and aviation. We work with a wide range of stakeholders across the Government and beyond to drive forward an exciting portfolio of work. You will be a critical part of the team that drives this work forward.

Regulatory Innovation Office

As part of the new Regulatory Innovation Office (RIO), your work will support the delivery of this flagship manifesto commitment announced on 8 October. The RIO will help regulators update regulation, speed up approval timelines, and co-ordinate issues that span existing boundaries. The successful candidate will be working on the RIO at an exciting early stage and, as part of the RPF, will play a critical role in delivering the RIO’s work on strengthening regulator capability.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of programme management in an innovation setting. This includes, but is not limited to, communications and stakeholder engagement, monitoring and evaluation and finance. You will be able to engage with our key stakeholders directly and support them with day-to-day work and queries. Supported by a Senior Policy Advisor, you will work as part of a dedicated team to deliver on our wide and exciting portfolio of work. You will engage with wider policy and corporate colleagues to resolve more complex queries and identify opportunities to promote regulatory reform. As a team we share a strong commitment to learning and development. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who partake in that ambition and demonstrate a willingness to learn new things and suggest new, improved ways of working.

We are a friendly and supportive team committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which includes the opportunity for job-share, part-time and hybrid working and use of flexi-leave.
