Job summary
Are you a rural estates manager looking for a new challenge?
Your new role could be with Dstl. As our rural estates manager you will be responsible for developing, planning and delivering the Rural Estates tasks across the Dstl Estate, utilising in house and external expertise.
You will maintain and manage the Rural Estate in-line with Dstl’s strategy, managing Rural Contractors in accordance with the requirements. You will work with the Ecological Officer, Rural Team and contractors, to balance the conservation and preservation of these, the maintenance of the rural estate and the delivery of Science and Technology on our Range.

Job description
In this role you will:
· Maintain and manage the Rural Estate in line with the aims and objectives of the Dstl Rural strategy.
· Ensure all aspects of Health & Safety and Risk Management are adhered to in line with current and emerging legislation.
· Manage planned, preventative and reactive rural built estate maintenance tasks.
· Manage Rural Contractors in accordance with the requirements of the Dstl estate.

- A working knowledge of relevant legislation as you ensure all aspects of Health & Safety and Risk Management are adhered to.
- Leadership skills as well as the ability to work in a team.

Qualifications
• Valid Driving Licence including ability to drive Farm machinery and off road vehicles.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety qualification
• Qualification Backpack Sprayer, Boom sprayer and in the safe handling and storage of pesticides (PA1, PA2 and PA6).
