About the DIO Accommodation Directorate

DIO Accommodation is responsible for providing Service Family Accommodation (SFA) in the UK and Europe. This includes the management of around 60,000 SFA properties and families; major SFA upgrades and other improvements; providing a comprehensive SFA repair and maintenance service; managing SFA allocation; and overseeing  the move in and move out of personnel from SFA properties. Management of private leased homes in the UK and Europe through partner organisations and supporting the modernised accommodation offer.

About the Role

The post-holder is responsible for the management and administration of accommodation for service personnel and families, in accordance with current regulations, including engagement with key stakeholders in Netherlands and Germany. The post is also responsible for delivery of Hard and Soft Facilities Management in Germany and the Netherlands in support of the ESG FM Manager. Maintaining a collaborative relationship with both Families/Service Personnel, and our delivery partners to ensure high quality service outputs.  Regular travel to housing locations in Germany and the Netherlands is required and travel to other housing locations within ESG as necessary.

The tour length is 3-years. 

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. 

Job description

If you have experience in delivering a combination of facilities management, stakeholder and financial management services within a public property, housing or estates environment are highly organised with excellent communication (oral and written), customer service and staff management skills, can work independently in a remote location and enjoy working in a complex and challenging environment in Europe.

You will be accountable for providing a full and effective Housing Service in collaboration with a Housing Delivery Manager across the agreed area of responsibility covering southern Germany and Netherlands. Such as:-

  • Co-ordinating delivery of associated support and taskings connected to administering the identification, allocation, maintenance and management of homes and housing needs within your area.
  • Verifying compliance of homes and assuring expenditure, processes and quality of services received are in line with departmental policy and best practice.
  • Engaging with both internal and external Stakeholders; verifying housing requirements, delivering awareness campaigns and quality of services provided and received across the area.  
  • Forecasting and reporting financial commitments and expenditure.

Person specification

Mandatory requirement

  • Full Driving Licence due to the significant travel, geography of the location and limited public transport

Essential Experience   

Excellent Organisational, Administration and communication skills including Share Point and Microsoft Office tools.

Previous experience of working in a Public Housing Facilities Management (FM) environment.

Previous experience in a customer facing role, within an estates or housing management environment.

Estate Compliance Management 

Managing Estate Support Services 

Desirable Experience

Proficient in German and/or Dutch (reading, writing and speaking) 

Desirable Technical Membership

  • British Institute of Facility Managers (BIFM).

Licences

Full UK Driving Licence
Evidence of qualification/Licences will be required at interview.
All qualifications/licences declared must be held at point of application and if applicable be in date. Equivalent Qualifications will not be accepted.
