Are you a dynamic leader in research and evaluation with a passion for quality in health and social care? This role, reporting to the Director of Policy and Strategy, is an opportunity to lead CQC’s ambitious and impactful research and evaluation programme, making sure we have the evidence to drive excellent decision making and evidence-based regulation so that more people receive high quality care.

You will lead a team of research and evaluation professionals, supporting them to manage a large programme of research and evaluation projects essential for our regulation. You will work with them and with others inside and outside of CQC to identify the most important and impactful opportunities to use research and evaluation to shape key decisions in our work. You will drive our programme forward, developing our evidence-based culture, ensuring that the work supports our strategic commitments and that our evidence lands with impact.

Job description

What you will bring...
You'll have experience leading research and evaluation programmes at a national or international level. You’ll bring expertise in research and evaluation alongside a keen strategic awareness and ability to navigate complex strategic and stakeholder contexts. You will be able to demonstrate experience of taking research and evaluation findings and using them to influence senior level decision making, supporting strategic, policy and operational decisions. We work in a complex context with many stakeholders, and in this role you will need to show that you can build strong relationships across many different stakeholders and partners, across different priorities and views. You will be passionate about, and motivated by, our core purpose to make sure services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encouraging services to improve.
