This is a rewarding opportunity for a Technology Delivery Manager to direct the delivery of one or more CQC core digital products or services by leading a plan of work across the team.  

As the Technology Delivery Manager, you will build, maintain and motivate a team, ensuring there is an iterative plan to work towards to deliver change driven by the Target Operating Model. This includes management of risks, budgets and people. In this role you will be engaged with: 

  • Delivering complex digital projects across the CQC 
  • Creating agile working environments, identifying people and resources for the team  
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques to ensure consistency. 
  • Helping teams organise themselves to deliver products and services that meet users’ needs. 
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders from across the business to ensure involvement in the product or service development. 
  • Challenging and improving processes and guiding teams through the implementation of new processes

Job description

  • To build and lead a team skilled in both agile and waterfall methodologies to effectively manage digital product delivery.
  • Delivering complex projects across the organisation, tailoring project management approaches to fit specific requirements and goals.
  • Create optimal working environments, identifying people and resources for the team.
  • Accountable for leading agile meetings such as daily scrums and stand-ups, as well as coordinating phase-based reviews in waterfall projects, facilitating related activities to ensure project progression.
  • Coach and mentor team members and others in applying the most appropriate agile and waterfall tools and techniques to ensure consistency and quality, helping teams organise themselves to deliver products and services that meet users’ needs.
  • Support and coach Delivery Managers in their roles. May have some line management responsibility for Delivery Managers.
  • Managing the resources of the delivery management team.
  • Ensuring teams and programmes understand their objectives, vision and goals and that these align across the organisation.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders from across the business to ensure involvement in the product or service development.
  • Communicate and visualise progress towards these goals.
  • Managing and addressing risks, issues and dependencies, identifying obstacles to project delivery and helping the team overcome them.
  • Challenge and improve processes and guide teams through the implementation of new processes.
  • Manage, support and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team.
  • Communicate across the organisation, listening to the needs of the technical and business stakeholders and interpreting between them.
  • Managing stakeholder’s expectations.
  • Measuring and evaluating outcomes.

What you will bring… 

 

With broad, proven experience of delivering digital projects and products you will set high standards for yourself and others and take accountability for results. 

 

As an ideal candidate for this role, you will; 

  • Share your experience using a range of agile project management methods/frameworks for complex, high risk and/or large-scale projects. 
  • Have the ability to matrix-manage multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Be an excellent communicator with the ability to convey both technical and non-technical messages. 
  • Have an in depth understanding of the digital landscape
